Penguin Ice Adventure
Venture into the rarely seen Antarctic landscape...
Marvel at the cheeky antics of our newest feathered residents as they dive beneath the freezing waters and play in their icy home
These lovable birds may spend much of their time at play, but they've evolved to survive in one of the most inhospitable landscapes on Earth!
Reef Edge
Amazing micro-habitats, full of incredible creatures!
Rockpools are formed by seawater left behind when the tide goes out. All kinds of creatures make their home in these shallow pools, and they need to be tough to cope with changing temperatures and crashing waves overhead!
If you're exploring rockpools at the beach, remember these important rules:
Safety first: Always stay with an adult, and only explore as the tide is going out. Wear non-slip shoes.
Be kind to creatures: Carefully put any rocks back where you found them, avoid disturbing the creatures you spot, and never take them home with you!
Tropical Ocean
Sharks have roamed our oceans for more than 420 million years... making them older than dinosaurs!
Over millions of years, their brains have evolved to rely heavily on their senses, particularly their extraordinary sense of smell. With over 500 shark species found across the world's oceans, you'll come face-to-face with several of them as you make your way through our Ocean Tunnel!
SEA LIFE Trust partners with the Shark Trust to campaign against unsustainable shark fishing in EU waters, and proudly coordinates the European Black Tip Reef Shark breeding programme.
Jelly Invaders
Step into the Jelly Invaders zone and prepare to see the mysterious world of jellyfish in a whole new light! Be mesmerised as these enchanting creatures drift and dance through magical tanks, where multi-coloured spotlights highlight their beauty and create a truly stunning, one-of-a-kind experience.
Sea Otters
Unlike most marine mammals, otters don't have a layer of blubber... but they do have the thickest fur of any animal on Earth!
Here are some more otterly cute facts:
There are 13 different species of otter found around the world, ranging from small river otters to larger sea otters
Around 90% of all sea otters live along the coast of Alaska
They're big eaters — sea otters can consume up to 30% of their body weight in food every single day
Sea otters are surprisingly clever too, using rocks to crack open clams, and even storing food (and their favourite rocks) in pouches of loose skin under their armpits!
