Full details

Step into a world shaped by the elements at Sky Lagoon - an oceanside geothermal lagoon just 13 minutes from the heart of Reykjavik. Rooted in the ancient traditions of Icelandic bathing culture, Sky Lagoon invites you to slow down, breathe in the refreshing ocean air, and float through a breathtaking canyon with magnificent views stretching out across the Atlantic. Whether you're soaking in the warmth of the infinity pool or working your way through the seven-step Skjól Ritual, every moment here is designed to restore the mind, body, and soul.

The Skjól Ritual:

The Skjól Ritual is Sky Lagoon's signature seven-step wellness journey, rooted in centuries of Icelandic bathing heritage. Each step has been thoughtfully designed to cleanse, restore, and revive - guiding you through the natural elements that have shaped Icelandic culture for generations.

Step 1 - Laug (Lagoon) | 38-40°C

Begin your journey in the warm embrace of the geothermal lagoon. Settle into the natural warmth, let the calming energy wash over you, and soak in the stunning views stretching out across the Atlantic Ocean.

Step 2 - Kuldi (Cold Plunge) | 5°C

Inspired by Iceland's ancient Snorralaug pool, the cold plunge engages and awakens your every sense, connecting you to a practice passed down through countless generations.

Step 3 - Ylur (Turf House & Sauna) | 80-90°C

Step into the comforting warmth of a traditional Icelandic turf house. Discover absolute tranquility as steam and heat open your pores, remove toxins, and cleanse your skin. Choose from the classic sauna or the phone-free sauna, both offering a quiet space to contemplate with breathtaking seaside views.

Step 4 - Súld (Cold Mist) | ~5°C

Feel the touch of Icelandic winds in a revitalising cool mist, a refreshing step that whispers stories of resilience and renewal.

Step 5 - Mýkt (Sky Body Scrub)

Time for gentle invigoration. Exfoliate your skin with the signature Sky Body Scrub, made with almond oil and sesame seed oil, before wearing the scrub into the steam room for maximum effect.

Step 6 - Gufa (Steam) | 46°C

Let the steam wrap around you, allowing your skin to absorb the therapeutic elements of the Skjól Ritual and maximise the hydrating benefits of the Sky Body Scrub.

Step 7 - Saft (Elixir)

Taste the essence of krækiber - the crowberries that dot Iceland's lava fields. Drank by Icelanders for centuries, this wholesome juice elixir stimulates the palate and embodies the spirit of the land. Return refreshed to the lagoon.

After the Ritual: Return to the Lagoon

Refreshed and revived, return to the geothermal lagoon to complete your Sky Lagoon journey.

Gelmir Bar

Find your way to the Gelmir Bar, tucked beneath a cave-wall canopy on the far edge of the lagoon, right where the sea meets the sky. Enjoy an Icelandic beer, mixed drink, or glass of wine as you linger in the warm waters. Simply charge all orders to your wristband and pay on exit.

Private Changing Facilities with Sky Pass (Sér)

Sky Pass guests benefit from access to a private changing room, giving you a more personal and relaxed environment to prepare for and unwind after your Sky Lagoon experience. Your private changing facilities include towels, Sky body wash, shampoo and conditioner, signature Sky body lotion, hairdryers, and bags to store your wet shorts and swimwear.
