Rich in silica, algae, and minerals, the waters are maintained at a comfortable 37-40°C - warm enough to enjoy Iceland's icy scenery without feeling the cold. The distinctive blue-green colour of the lagoon is created by the reflection of the water's three core ingredients in the sunlight."

Dining at the Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is home to two exceptional dining experiences, each offering a unique setting to complement your visit. Please note that dining is not included in your ticket price and is available to purchase separately.
Lava Restaurant
Gourmet dining set within an 800-year-old volcanic cliff on the shores of the Blue Lagoon. Guests can dine in their robe until 3pm. Reservations are required - please email contact@bluelagoon.com to book. If you already have a Blue Lagoon reservation, dining can be added directly to your booking.
Spa Restaurant
A relaxed dining experience available before, during, or after your spa visit, with no reservations required. Dine in your robe or fully clothed - the choice is yours.
Getting There - Transfer Options:
Return transport from Reykjavik to the Blue Lagoon is available as an optional add-on. Buses depart from the BSÍ Bus Terminal in downtown Reykjavik, with the journey taking approximately 45 minutes. Hotel pick-up is also available, adding approximately 30 minutes to the journey time.
There are typically 3 to 4 departures daily from Reykjavik, with a return trip scheduled four hours later from the Blue Lagoon. Return transfers from the Blue Lagoon to Reykjavik depart at the following times: 13.15, 14.15, 16.15, 18.15, and 20.15 (the 20.15 service is not available 1st February to 31st May).
An early departure from Keflavík Airport to the Blue Lagoon is also available for those arriving on early morning flights - perfect for guests who cannot check in to their hotel until the afternoon. Luggage lockers are available at the Blue Lagoon. After your visit, a convenient drop-off in Reykjavik city centre is included.

The Blue Lagoon welcomes guests with special needs or disabilities. Please note that the transfer bus can accommodate foldable wheelchairs, however passengers are required to be able to climb steps unaided or with the assistance of a travel partner in order to board.

Whether you are visiting Iceland for the first time or returning for another adventure, the Blue Lagoon is always worth it.
The recommended duration for a Blue Lagoon visit is approximately 4 hours. Once you arrive, you are free to stay as long as you like during operating hours.
The minimum age for using the Blue Lagoon waters is 2 years old. Children younger than 2 are welcome at the facility but may not enter the water - one adult must remain with the child outside the water at all times. Reception staff may request age verification for young children upon arrival.
The Blue Lagoon's geothermal seawater will not permanently damage your swimsuit, however we recommend rinsing it with cold water and soap after your visit. Swimsuit hire is available for ISK 1,000 and swimsuits are also available to purchase in the Blue Lagoon shop.
Weather closures at the Blue Lagoon are extremely rare. The lagoon remains open in rain, snow, sleet, hail, and subzero temperatures - closures only occur in the event of sustained hurricane-force winds.
Guests who prefer not to enter the water are welcome to relax at the Blue Café or explore the natural surroundings while their group enjoys the lagoon.
